Helping Hands

This ministry is filled with many gifted people who we can call on when a project arises out of the blue and we need help.  They have many gifts that they contribute at a moment’s notice.  Also, if you have a gift that is not listed here, please let us know and we will find a way for you to share it with us.

Mercy in Action Day

Mercy shared enriches our walk with God and our relaIonships with everyone we encounter. Mercy-in-Action Day happens usually in the fall. As soon as we have the scheduled date, we will let you know. The day begins with prayer and breakfast at 8:00 am in the Parish Hall.
There will be a multitude of local service projects available. Our focus last year was to restock  the St. Vincent de Paul’s pantry. Again, everyone is welcome to help. We have something for every age group to do. This is a family affair. All are welcome. We are the hands, feet, and heart needed to lift burdens from another.

Soup Kitchen

We need a leader or event planner for this opportunity; along with several people to help the leader. Once a year we help at St. Christine Soup Kitchen in Detroit to serve a hot and healthy meal on a Tuesday or Saturday. We serve 450 people. We are also open to serving at other soup kitchens in the area. Please call or email if you are interested in being a part of this initiative.

Parish Community Garden

Our parish members, with or without green thumbs, work offsite together to grow vegetables and fruit on a 4-½ acre piece of land, for our families who are in need.  Their work consists of planning, plowing, fertilizing, planting, weeding, harvesting, and distributing the fruit of their labor.  We have fun and invite EVERYONE out to have fun with us.
